May 2016: Call for Performers (Singer-Instrumentalists) with Re:Sound Music Theatre
Re:Sound (www.resoundmusictheatre.co.uk) is an artistically ambitious collective of multi-disciplinary artists producing new and existing works of opera and music theatre. We love engaging and challenging our audiences with exceptional work performed in unexpected ways, and often use actor-musician ensembles to create holistic theatrical productions.
This October 2016, Re:Sound will be developing and performing a new piece, Duet as part of the Oxford Lieder Festival. For more information please see here.
Interested parties should be classically trained singers who can also play an instrument to at least Grade 8 standard. For this project we are particularly interested in hearing from performers who are also specialists on the piano and/ or a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, harp, guitar etc.)
The project will involve 10 days rehearsal in late September/ October 2016. There will be 7 performances in Oxford, London, and Manchester. You must be available for performances in Oxford on October 16th, 17th, 24th, 26th (further dates for London and Manchester tba). Rehearsals can be scheduled flexibly according to availability.
Details of Fee: £1870 (£110 per day)
Please prepare the following for the audition:
– one song/aria in English
– one song/aria in German
– one piece of choice on your instrument(s)
We will also invite you to read a script extract from the play.
