Rebecca Anderson – Mezzo-Soprano/ Cello

Rebecca AndersonRebecca gained her First Class Honours degree in Music at the University of Manchester, receiving both the Hargreaves Prize for Excellence and the Proctor-Gregg Prize in her final year, following this with a PG Diploma on the ‘cello at the RNCM. She has sung from an early age and has worked extensively as a soloist and consort singer since completing her ‘cello studies, returning to the RNCM as a PG Vocal Studies student in 2010. Her operatic experience includes work as a soloist and company member for both Opera Hesperia and Sawn-Off Opera. She was also a member of the BBC Daily Service Singers from 2005 to 2013. In addition to her operatic and ensemble work, Rebecca has appeared as an oratorio soloist throughout the UK. She has performed in Re:Sound’s productions of Into the Woods and Battles Within and Without and, after having taken a brief sabbatical from vocal work in 2014, is very much looking forward to working with the company again.
